OpenWrt Software Download

Warnings

This webpage lists software of devices which support OpenWrt system, before download and install the software, please note that OpenWrt Project is a Linux operating system targeting embedded devices. Instead of trying to create a single, static firmware, OpenWrt provides a fully writable filesystem with package management. This frees you from the application selection and configuration provided by the vendor and allows you to customize the device through the use of packages to suit any application. For developers, OpenWrt is the framework to build an application without having to build a complete firmware around it; for users this means the ability for full customization, to use the device in ways never envisioned.

@Dear Jacek,
Thank you for contacting Cudy support team.
The OpenWrt firmware is not developed by Cudy. We need the OpenWrt forum official support the router at first, then we can release a middle firmware for you, then you can use and upgrade to the other OpenWrt firmware. Thanks!

@Jacek
Cudy doesn’t add support for vanilla OpenWRT, it is added by OpenWRT project members and when available Cudy appears to release the intermediary firmware to allow easy flashing.
You’d have to ask the OpenWRT community about supporting the WR1300S or any other model not currently supported by vanilla OpenWRT.

Well, I’m happy to say that I managed to flash OpenWrt on my TR12000. The problem was all my fault. I was using the wrong intermediate image all the time. Once I figured that out everything worked fine. I flashed the intermediate image, then the latest supported image from OpenWrt. Apologies for my mistake and thanks for the help!

Mandrieu

Thanks for your response, but the problem is, I never get to flash the intermediate firmware “openwrt-ramips-mt76x8-cudy_m1200-v1-squashfs—flash” contained in M1200 V1 from your Google Drive. I get the “invalid file” error when I try to flash it. I can’t find a way to upload a screenshot so here’s what I get in the Firmware Update dialog when I try to flash the intermediate firmware:

File is invalid. Please retry.

@Dear Mandrieu.
Generally, you need to update the intermediate firmware first. You can download it on the Cudy Google Drive. Then, you can update the OpenWrt firmware of the router, you can download it on the website below.
https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/24.10.0/targets/ramips/mt76x8/openwrt-24.10.0-ramips-mt76x8-cudy_tr1200-v1-squashfs-sysupgrade.bin

If still fail. Please tell me which step you fail, and take screenshot of the error page. I will check.
